CLC 12-03 My University Application Progress Check

I am now writing a blog poster for my School Career Life Connection course. I will be reporting my current status for university application by answering the given questions. I will apply for universities mostly by myself. The actual processes are still to be determined. What is known is that I will apply to Canadian universities solely by myself. I am still considering applying to UK and Australia and to those two I may need to hire an agent.  So far, I have asked my former teacher to write me a reference letter and he has agreed to do so. I am also currently having 6 courses with satisfying grades for applying and I am ready to keep my grades if everything goes as planned (in which I mean all the tests and projects were to be benevolent). I will also take the upcoming CSMC and Euclid math contest for potential scholarships at the University of Waterloo.  In order to have everything for application properly, I will need great patience to figure out the terrible-designed...

Week of 09-28 Blog Post

I am now writing a blog poster for a New Media Course in school. I will be discussing what I’ve learned in the recent sections. I’ve learned a cornucopia of information about social media and most of them are novel. I first learned about poster designing. I was working with an excellent artist to make a poster attractive and aesthetic appropriate. My main contribution is to select a background with a cosmic picture. I also picked up some merits and demerits for it. During the process of picking, I noticed that almost all the problems and controversies are about decentralization, addiction orientation, and speed in information spreading of social media. For instance, the first two points on the group poster “Social media spreads information faster than any other media” and “Social media enables the spread of unreliable and false information” are decentralization and speed-focused (“Pros & Cons”, 2020). In the movie the class watched September 26th, I was witnessed many practitione...

CLC 12- 02 Blog post Three universities I am Interested in Going and Why

Image
Now I am writing another blog poster for my School Career Life Connection course. I will be introducing my top 3 interesting universities.   No.1 University of Waterloo I am always in the obsession with STEM sub jects and I am in constant tempting of curiosity and need of exploring. The University of Waterloo has very prestigious engineering and mathematics programs in Canada and their graduates can easily enjoy the good reputations of the university. I also assume Waterloo can provide a generally good environment for studying and assiduousness which is what I expect from a university. I am also in favor of Ontario for which accidentally has a moderate temperature and weather for me. Ontario has an acceptable demographic composition and the Asian population percentage is below 10%. As an International Student, I want the city I live in to different from my hometown.   No.2 University of Alberta Alberta is a place with extreme weather. I heard about the outrageous t...

CLC 12- My S.M.A.R.T Goals and How to Achieve them

Image
I am now writing a blog poster to my self-awareness and S.M.A.R.T. goals for a School CLC course.   Thanks to the new G12 year, I will stop following my old goal which I’ve been following for my entire life. My life goal was not to set goals and I mostly believe in a life that “ go with the flow” or “live in the moment”.   One of my recent set S.M.A.R.T. goals is to keep my average higher than 93% for the first term. I accomplish that goal in my most G11 year but the change in courses I am taking could put that in uncertainty. I could easily write essays and do presentations and my Composition and Social-Study mark would be above 86%. The new term cha nged everything.   I am only taking 3 Canadian taught knowledge-oriented courses now and all of them are not in my most comfortable fields. I will work as hard as I was but I think I would need some extra mercies from my Mandarin and Chinese Culture teachers. I would review befo re every test, get all my n...

Week of 09-11 Blog Post

I am now writing a blog poster for learning blogging. This is just a great way to learn new things. I will answer the given 3 questions in this poster.   I learned many basic facts about blogging in the first week. Just by listening to the class and reading the PowerPoint posted, I learned that the word “blog” refers to “a website that is like a diary or journal” (Lee, 2020). In more conclusive words, blogging provides a platform for one to share any content he or she likes in a relatively more convenient and organized way. Creating a website for one’s blog posters can be free but publishing a book can sometimes cost a person thousands of dollars, for instance, “a 40,000-manuscript edited through NY Book Editors can run you up to $2,700 for a comprehensive edit” (Allan, 2019). Also, writing a blog doesn’t require any professional knowledge or certification from authorities, anyone with basic writing and reading capability can be a blog writer. On the other hand, putting a poste...
